The Vice President Enterprise Solutions & Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as the strategic leader for the Enterprise Solutions (ES) team across the various business functions. The CIO serves as a technology strategist, catalyst, expert, and operator developing and executing the technology strategy to support the business through collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Will oversee all technology platforms to ensure they remain relevant to the business while delivering maximum value to business operations and customers.

Innovation and Transformation: Drives organizational change through innovative technology adoption, including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and mobile technologies, to transform business architecture and operational models.
Policy and Infrastructure: Develops and implements policies for technology management, ensuring a secure environment for customer and employee data, and maintaining robust tech infrastructure.
Data Security and Integrity: Ensures robust security measures for all information systems and communications to protect sensitive data and maintain system integrity.
Visionary Leadership: Crafts and communicates the technical vision for Grinnell Mutual, addressing both opportunities and risks in technology adoption.
Stakeholder Communication: Engages with all organizational levels, including corporate officers and the Board, to ensure clarity and support for technology related initiatives.
Efficiency and Profitability: Identifies and implements technological efficiencies that contribute to profitability, cost savings, and competitive advantage.
Business Continuity: Oversees business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring minimal operational disruption and data protection during crises.
Project and Budget Management: Manages the technology project portfolio, including business case development, resource allocation, and strategic oversight to align with business needs.
Vendor and Risk Management: Manages technology obsolescence and vendor relationships, including contract negotiations to optimize cost and performance.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline is required. Master’s Degree in a technical discipline is preferred. IT certifications and other advanced learning are a plus. The educational background of the CIO must blend technical expertise with business acumen.
Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years in IT/ES leadership, with at least ten years in senior management. Must show expertise in emerging technology, technology systems, IT infrastructure, coding, operating systems, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and business intelligence.
Technical Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of complex IT environments, strategic project management, budget oversight, and security protocols.
Leadership Qualities: Proven track record in leading large IT organizations, driving business results, and managing change.
Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to assess, prioritize, and solve complex issues.
Communication: Exceptional in presentations, negotiations, and conveying complex information to diverse audiences.
Creative and Collaborative: Must be a proactive, innovative leader who fosters teamwork and relationship building across all organizational levels.
Project Management: Experienced in Agile, Scrum, and traditional project methodologies, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct oversight of ES leaders and over 150 employees across the various functions, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
Responsibilities and Decision-Making Authority: Strategic planning for Enterprise Solutions, significant project oversight, and key decision-making in technology investments and partnerships.
Fiscal Responsibility: Manage divisional operations for cost-effectiveness, vendor contract negotiations, and budgeting.
