Working on an empowered agile team, the business analyst serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and the agile team to determine and document user stories including creating IT solutions that improve efficiencies and add value, identifying opportunities and problem solving to arrive at outcomes focused on minimum viable product. Projects will vary in scope and complexity. Works under direct supervision of an IT manager.

Establishes and maintains business relationships with mutual managers, staff, and boards of mutual reinsured by Grinnell Re. Provides consulting services for member mutuals on reinsurance programs and products as well as general insurance operations. Identifies and develops business relationships with prospective mutual members.
The primary territory for this position includes all of Eastern Iowa, from Interstate 35 to the Mississippi River.

Responsible for developing user interfaces and/or complex integration of existing applications using current technologies for information technology solutions that support the business operations and objectives of Grinnell Mutual and their customers. Primarily uses SAP Bods, SQL, and Cognos to meet the business needs of the end users and Grinnell Mutual while using current technologies.
This position may be filled at either an intermediate or senior level, depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Please note that candidates need to be eligible to work in the U.S. without Grinnell Mutual sponsorship.

Investigates claims, negotiates settlements, and authorizes payments to customers for casualty and property losses covered by Grinnell Mutual policy to reach a fair and equitable settlement. Acts as company representative during the claims process providing service primarily in person but may also utilize phone and/or e-mail. Claim load that ranges from easiest to the most complex.
The job territory consists of 12 counties and towns in Northcentral Iowa: Buena Vista - Storm Lake, Calhoun - Lake City, Clay - Spencer, Dickinson - Spirit Lake, Emmet - Estherville, Hancock - Forest City, Humboldt -Humboldt, Kossuth - Algona, Palot Alto - Emmetsburg, Pocahontas, Sac - Sac City, Winnebago - Forest City

Investigates claims, negotiates settlements, and authorizes payments to customers for primarily commercial property losses covered by a Grinnell Mutual policy to reach a fair and equitable settlement. Losses will include a small percentage of homeowners and farm claims. The size of losses will range from routine storm claims to large complex commercial losses. Acts as company representative during the claims process providing service primarily in person but may also utilize phone and/or e-mail.
Territory will include areas surrounding Springfield, Decatur and Jacksonville, Illinois.

Conducts loss control research, collects data, surveys and photographs potential and current policyholder properties to identify and evaluate account risk exposures to assist commercial underwriting and the reinsurance division in their effort to evaluate risks for insurance coverage eligibility and rating purposes. Serves as a resource to policyholders as they develop loss control and safety programs to minimize frequency or severity of potential losses.
The job territory is the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area along with the Duluth area and northwestern Wisconsin.

Adjusts property claims as part of Reinsurance Adjuster Program for assigned mutuals. Determines coverage by consulting policy in force and endorsements, evaluates loss by completing on-site investigations, and settles claims according to Grinnell Mutual Claims procedures.
The primary location for this position is in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio which may include Fort Wayne, Indiana, Defiance, Ohio, Fort Jennings, Ohio and Van Wert, Ohio. This position will be based out of a home office with a company-provided vehicle for travel to the claim sites.

The Project Manager applies knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to coordinate end to end activities and meet overall requirements of projects and programs that are large in size or highly complex in nature. Delivers value to the enterprise by exhibiting knowledge area and Grinnell Mutual competencies in conjunction with leading applicable processes to plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects.

The QA Analyst will execute test plans to validate and verify that software meets the acceptance criteria, document defects and work with test leadership to support quality in an agile development environment.

You will help set and maintain Grinnell Mutual’s look, feel, and visual “voice,” helping to tell its 110-year-old story of trusted relationships and promises kept, both in the marketplace and to employees. Your work will contribute to the company’s ongoing marketing maturity and professionalism, especially in the area of video and other interactive visual content. While the position is primarily focused on photography and videography, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to content across media, including graphic design and written storytelling.

Supervises the daily operations of adjusters in Reinsurance Adjuster Program to ensure consistent, professional claims handling service is provided to member mutuals enrolled in the program. Provides property claims handling services to mutuals in territory in order to provide additional coverage as needed.
Primary territory for this position will include Nebraska, Western Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota. This position is based out of a home office with a company-provided vehicle for travel to the claim sites.
